Used 2008 Ducati Hypermotard 6,900 miles
Santa Barbara, CA
Finest, most fun Ducati Hypermotard I've seen, ANYWHERE. Literally 100's of Professional hours spent building the bike, tuning the motor and dialing in/upgrading the suspension. And it shows. Some of the parts simply cannot be duplicated without $$$ and Steve Munroe of Loudbike Ducati's connections. Steve, a long-time builder of vintage Ducati race bikes, built this Hypermotard as his personal bike and to show off what he could do. But it's a rider, not a trailer queen. 6800 miles. For the most part, I'll let this bike speak for itself. I purchased it from it's builder, Steve Munroe of Loudbikes Ducati in Canada. (Having spent untold amounts of time and $$$ in shipping, taxes and duty fees just getting the bike into California.) -Here's a link to Steve's ad (with his approval) when he originally sold it, which describes this Ducati as well as I ever could loudbike.blogs.com/loud_bike/2009/06/another-loudbike-hits-ebay.html-Here's some more great info about this Ducati Hypermotard including a dyno run, as well as more history of the bike and the trials and tribulations involved in building this unique beast: loudbike.blogs.com/loud_bike/2008/10/son-of-hyperstrada.htmlWhich continues here: loudbike.blogs.com/loud_bike/2008/10/index.html * Excellent Overall Condition. Countless hours of tuning have made this bike run perfectly. This motorcycle accelerates with serious alacrity compared to stock and blows away the new 4-valve HM up to 100+mph. Traxxion Dynamics dialed the suspension so well, I have never even thought of adding a steering damper. On or off the track. *The front Michelin Pilot Power is brand new and the rear has about 500 miles.-I have indicated imperfections in the photos as best I could. The bike was dropped on the left side (less than 5 mph). Fortunately, it had frame and wheel sliders at the time, so damage was not significant. The slightly bent shift lever looks and functions fine (as you can see). And I did not bother to replace the clutch lever because I prefer the shorter length. As you can see, the scrape on the left side of the tank is barely visible. The underside of the front header got scratched while pushing the bike up a ramp and softly set up suspension resulted in minor scrapes toward the rear while cornering. (See picture.) The scrapes on the rear sets are also from the one track day I enjoyed (should have adjusted them), because her superb handling had me at more "advanced" lean angles than I am accustomed to :-) And the mark in the rear wheel is from a clumsy tire change. YES, I was PO'd!. - Changes I've made is the addition of a slipper clutch (VERY useful *with new friction plates, top plate & springs), Lithium Battery (saved 9 lbs), Fresh Rubber (Pilot Powers) and Evoluzione Clutch Slave. Also I added an anodized quick change rear sprocket carrier & sprocket and painted the CF rear fender to match the bike. Lastly, a Throttle Tamer (at the track, her ultra-snappy forward motion was wonderful) makes her far more manageable on the street.Questions are encouraged, so ask away. ****Shipping is the sole responsibility of the buyer. I can, however, store the bike after payment is made and help with logistics. PS- You will NOT be disappointed with this motorcycle. It truly is a wonderful machine.
