Hi my name is Arron and I am the creator of Iron Thrills Motorcycle Company. Typically I specialize in building affordable custom bobbers to the buyers specification. To see more about that check out my website where you can design your own bobber get a quote and be a part of the build process every step of the way. It is a rare occasion that I get to step out side the contract builds but I needed to fit this one in to showcase some new one off parts that I will be offering as I am expanding parts catalogue. This was a really fun build so lets start from the top. I base nearly all of my builds off of Yamaha's I do this for a handful of reasons but most importantly because they are extremely reliable, affordable and I can make them look really cool without making heavy modifications to the engine, electrical harness, drivetrain or frame that would compromise its reliability and integrity. This also helps remedy another headache that custom motorcycle ownership has which is getting maintenance parts and service work. Most dealers are willing to work on my bikes because they have the parts and know how to fix them. This one started out as a lightly used Vstar 650 that I picked up from a nice couple in Cape Coral Florida. It had been parked in their garage for a while not getting used. So they decided to let it go with me. Now when I picked it up it had been drained of fuel so I couldn't run it but I was able to turn it over. So I brought it back here to my shop in Sebring and got her up and running. I immediately adjusted the valve clearance, replaced the oil, battery, spark plugs then I cleaned and rebuilt the carbs which were actually surprisingly clean to begin with. I replaced the tires and while I had the old tires off I went ahead and sand blasted the wheels and powder coated them this killer wrinkle finish. Unfortunately, when I got it all back together it would not start. I was able to diagnose that it was not getting sufficient spark and it turned out that the Stator Coil had way too much resistance. This was a first for me but swapped it out with a brand new stator and I was off to the races. Once it was mechanically sound it was time to get her up undressed and cleaned up and lookin her best. I fabricated a fender and seat mount as well as a rigid strut to set the stance just so that the tire would have that nice tucked look in under the fender. I cleaned and painted the engine and polished up all of the chrome. I am particularly proud of the Stainless Exhaust that I built from scratch. I used some extra expanded tips I had laying around here to give it a retro bell tip sort of look. It sounds just as killer as it looks by the way. I rejetted the carbs to accommodate the new bafflless exhaust as well as a high flow performance air filter. Then I topped it all off with a fresh coat of durable single stage flat black paint and painted the Hard Headed Woman and the Iron Thrills Logos with a little added patina. This bike gets a ton of attention every where it goes and sounds and runs great. Please if you have any questions at all don't hesitate to reach out to me on here or check out my website and call me directly. Not a day goes by that I am not grateful to be doing something I love and I appreciate everyone that has trusted me to bring their dream bikes to life.
