I am selling my BSA BANTAM B175. Oneof the last to be made, this model has a 4 speed gearbox and centralcylinder head spark plug, along with the heavier C15 style frontforks. I bought this as a doer-upper 3 years ago. It has been the subject of a sympathetic restoration by me over the last3 years. Where do I begin to describe what's been done? Well, the engine has been stripped completely, the cases vapour blasted andthe whole engine rebuilt with the following New Parts: New Rex Caunt piston, rings and Con-rod with new big and little ends. Newcrank thrust washers fitted. New Rex Caunt hand-lapped bearings throughout. Newoil seals throughout, including O rings. Newhead studs. New Contact breaker Cam. Clutchplates checked for condition and trueness. New springs fitted. Newclutch thrust washer fitted. Newgear change selector quadrant. Enginehousing case bolts in stainless steel Allnew gaskets throughout. I sourced and fitted a Brand New Amal carburettor. Correct model for the bike but a Brand New Version Direct from Amal. Ihave also sourced and fitted fitted a Brand New, Direct from Lucas, cloth bound wiringloom. Headlightswitches are new but I have retained the original Wipac switch tops. Newhalogen headlight bulb, 6 Volt of course. New Ducon Horn/Headlight Dip Switch assembly Ithas a modern 6 volt battery in good condition. Ihave fitted many new stainless bolts for the tank, seat mounts, forktop nuts etc. Theexhaust is, I believe, a stainless steel one. It cleans up well butisn't as shiny as chrome. However, it should outlast a chrome one! Ihave also fitted new handlebars with new clamp bolts and caps. I bought 1 new wheel and sourced another in very good condition. New rear wheel bearings fitted. The wheels have been fitted with newrim tapes, inner tubes and New Tyres. I have fitted New front andrear brake shoes.
