This 2009 BMW R1200GSA is a one owner bike that has all of the great parts of being a GS Adventure without the $24,000 price tag the bike and its accessories rang up new just a few years ago. GS Adventures are the prime choice of weapons amongst long distance Adventure Riders and this particular bike is a perfect example of why. The bike comes equipped with the regular GS BMW accessories, FI, ANTILOCKING BRAKES brakes, ESA Suspension on the Fly Tuning, Warmed grips, Hard Sided Aluminum Cases (not advised for use when lane splitting...) and the Adventure 8.7 Gallon Gas Tank, Crash Bars and Winglets that run alongside the windscreen. According to riders who have been on both bikes, the GSA provides better wind protection then the R1200RT. Go figure. As with every BMW Motorcycle Owner I know, leaving the bike stock was unthinkable. He 1st purchased an Extended Unlimited Mileage Warranty that also includes Road Hazard Protection for the tires which is good through 11/2014 if the new owner pays a small fee to transfer the policy. Then came out the Touratech Catalog. Their products are under the engine replacing the stock Skid Plate, covering the Head Lamps with their quick release Head Light Cover, Pivot Pegz foot pegs, Rear Brake Lever Extension and 1 I had not seen before, a Lower Control Arm Additional Stop Protector to prevent the steering stop from being damaged in the event of a tip over. There is the obvious Akrapovic Muffler (what GS has a stock muffler?) and a set of Driving Lamps that run through the Factory Fog Light Switch. A brand new set of Heidenau Tires were installed front and rear and have less then 100mis on them. The Motorcycle shows 7200 mis from new. I checked with Hansens and they completed a 6000mi service on the bike in May of 2010. You can see why the bike is being sold, it is not being ridden. Craig also informed me that there will not be an Adventure version of the new water cooled GS for at least a year or more after it is introduced later this spring.
