This is a 1948 Indian Chief, matching engine and frame numbers and it was a complete restoration in 2016. The bike has been gone through top to bottom and front to back. The lower end of the engine was rebuilt in 2016 and the top end was rebuilt in 2017. The original 3 speed transmission was changed out to a 4 speed overdrive transmission in 2018, this allows you to cruise up to 70 very easily. The speedometer was replaced in 2023 with an original rebuilt speedometer. I have also added modern tires for better traction and durability. All the wheel bearings and seals are new and greased. All the bolts are the correct cad plated bolts. This is how this bike would have looked coming out of the factory in 1948. I have owned this bike since I finished the restoration in 2016 and it is A very easy bike to start and ride. I have a LED light bulb in the taillight and one in the headlight, This is so you can be seen much easier at night. It is also fitted with a Cycle Electrics generator for dependability. This motorcycle has approximately 7200 miles on it since the restoration. The solo seat was added in 2018 and the saddlebags and windshield bag were added in 2017. The leatherwork was done by Heathers Leathers.Shipping is on buyer.
