This 1949 Indian Scout was purchased at the Las Vegas auction some years ago. I included photos to show you the bike as purchased. I was planning to do a light restoration, but when I got it home there were issues undisclosed that required a complete tear down. I had the engine rebuilt and the transmission gone through.The overall paint is in good shape, the tank is clean and in great shape, no rust of any kind. I planned to leave it as is, but decided to sandblast and powder coated all the black pieces and elected to powder coat the chrome pieces considering the bike was not completely original and the chrome pieces were in bad shape ............... getting items chromed was looking to be an issue and costly so used a silver powder coat and was looking to make this bike a weekend driver.The rims are rusted and many of the spokes were broken or missing which was the final straw ........... that is why I am looking to sell the bike as finding parts are difficult and I have other projects that I need to work on. With that being said, this has turned into a "Project Bike" for that Indian lover that has parts and time to complete the bike.I have an Arizona Title in hand and Mecum paperwork that I was provided when purchased. This Indian project bike is not a numbers matching bike. It was assembled when I purchased the bike at Mecum in Vegas. It however was not functional.The front forks need to be rebuilt, the wheels need to be completed, brakes need replaced and there is work involved to complete the front brake. I did buy new tires as shown in one of the photos, the carburetor is not original, but most of the parts are original. I purchased this bike for more than I am starting the auction at and spent a small fortune to have the engine rebuilt, no guarantee of the rebuild, but I was assured it is complete and ready to run.Buyer is responsible for pickup, Seller is able to assist once a shipper is selected for pickup. I have packed the bike parts into 2 large containers and the cost to ship is by size not weight with UPS and the cost can vary depending on final destination. You can figure somewhere around $500 to $750 to Dallas, Texas to give you and idea of freight cost to ship. I have lowered the price to help with the shipping.I have added photos to give and idea how I have packed the containers, most items have been powder coated and are wrapped as you can see from the photos.Bike is being sold as is and no warrantee is provided or implied.
