Description:
Fortunately all the numbered frame and engine parts existed and all numbers matched, including covers. Parts were gotten from Coventry Spares in Maine and The Vincent Owners Club in the Uk. With continuous tutelage from our resident Vincent specialist, Phil Mahood, I go about to restore this bike. Ken Rosevear restored the crank and heads and Doug Wood reconstructed the mag. Gary Robinson, Isle of Wight, restored the mark I cams. I did the assembly. This bike has been reconstructed to initial specifications consisting of basic bore with 7:1 low growth pistons with.004" clearance. All small upgrades as advised by E.M.G. Stevens in Know Thy Beast, such as oil seals in the valve guides, were done. This is an authentic, factory constructed Red and Black Vincent Rapide constructed to purchase for Indian Sales in the U.S. Of 107 Red Vincents developed, 31 were developed with red fenders and gas tank, the rest of the bike was black. It is thought that only about a dozen of these black and red Vincents endure.
