Description:
Restored 1953 BMW R51/3! This bike in complete, rolling basket case condition and instantly began a ground up restoration. Five years later on ... the motor, transmission and final drive have been rebuilt with brand-new seals, bearings and gaskets. The frame, center stand, wheels, centers, brake leaver and lower legs were powder layered, the sheet metal was repaired where necessary, repainted making use of a single phase gloss black and only the tank was striped. He or she could quickly stripe the fenders to make it more stock but I like her blacked out if an individual wanted to. The wheels and centers were developed by Buchanan's utilizing polished spokes with mounted and balanced Metzler tires. The bike starts and runs really well and for a 500 she goes fast, 70mph without any problem, and don't be amazed when it stops on a dime. The half centers are excellent, people say "they do not stop extremely well" BS. All numbers match and the initial headstock tag is in excellent condition. !!
