-- Restored 1953 BMW R51/3This bike in complete, rolling basket case condition and right away began a ground up restoration. 5 years later ... the motor, transmission and last drive have been rebuilt with new seals, gaskets and bearings. The frame, center stand, wheels, hubs, brake leaver and lower legs were powder covered, the sheet metal was fixed where needed, painted making use of a single phase gloss black and only the tank was striped. He or she could quickly stripe the fenders to make it more stock but I like her blacked out if a guy wanted to. The centers and wheels were built by Buchanan's utilizing polished spokes with mounted and stabilized Metzler tires. The bike starts and runs effectively and for a 500 she goes quickly, 70mph without any problem, and do not be amazed when it stops on a dime. The half hubs are excellent, people state "they do not stop really well" BS.All numbers match and the initial headstock tag is in terrific condition.--
