Description:
1953 Triumph T100C. This is an unique construct, and is not in the stock trim that a T100C was available in. Nevertheless, it is a numbers matching T100C; and we do have a clear title for this bike. We asked for the manufacturing facility dispatch on the motor and frame numbers with the VMCC in England to validate its credibility. There is a scan of the record we got back from them all the way at the bottom of this page. This T100C was provided to Johnson Motors on April 19th, 1953. The T100C model was basically a race kitted T100R that included lights and other equipment to make them street legal. We had the matching cases and frame, so we built this bike from our readily available parts; consisting of some original parts from the Triumph race kit. This bike does not have a T100R design rear frame with lugs in place for rear sets. We tastefully built our own rear set foot controls. Lots of other small touches on this bike were hand made here at the shop; such as the reduced license plate bracket. Everything to the sludge trap is rebuilt, refreshed, or new. It has a 21 front wheel with a brand-new Avon Speed Master tire mounted. The rear Wheel is 19, with an Avon Safety Mileage tire mounted. All the hardware is correct British fasteners, that have actually been glass beaded and skillfully cad plated. A freshly reconstructed BTH Magneto supplies trigger for the ignition. There is a dual carburetor manifold from Triumphs race kit fitted. It is fed by 2 brand name new 626 Amal carburetors; rather of the dripping type 276 carburetors it had from the factory. The chronometric Tachometer was restored. The motor and transmission were totally rebuilt. The jumping tigers on the gas tank were hand painted. This bike is all set and completely functional to ride and reveal.
