VINTAGE 1957 TRIUMPH TR6 TROPHY DESERT SLED PRE UNIT MOTORCYCLE PROJECT TR6B 650 HTML 1957 Triumph TR6B Desert Sled 650cc pre unit matching numbers twin. Being sold on a bill of sale, title lost many decades ago. Sold as a project. Recently purchased from an estate as a collection of parts. I decide to bolt everything back together loosely to evaluate what would be needed to complete and have since decided that I will not allow me to get to it for a while so I am moving this excellent project on. 1957 was a killer year for the Trophy. Unique front forks and scooped front brake with the fixed axle give the front end a great look. The engine was together when I purchased it it and it does turn over smoothly, but will obviously need to be gone through. The primary drive is included but not in the chaincase presently. The clutch appears to be in great shape. The side stand and center stand lugs have been removed in order to use a bash plate which I could not find when buying the parts. Obvious parts that are missing are the magneto gear, rear lifting handle, left hand foot peg, engine head stays, steering damper spring and friction disc, rear brake pedal, drive chain, upper gearbox mounting stud and chain adjuster as well as some other hardware. Lucas K2F Magneto throws a spark when spun, the TR6 would have come with a K2FC Magneto. The fuel tank is free from dents and clean inside, I am guessing that the paint was stripped for some reason and what we see now is a good coating of surface rust, but that it is all it is, surface rust. Amal carburetor us stuck from sitting. Neat opportunity to build a killer desert sled or even a good core to restore to stock with its matching numbers.
