This is a very first year - edition of the Triumph Bonneville motorcycle - there would be lots of successors but 1959 is the very first year they were ntroduced to the world. When it was introduced, the 1959 Triumph Bonneville 650 was among, if not THE fastest motorcycle you might purchase. It was a genuine hot rod! The new T120 designation is supposed to suggest that it could do 120 mph! Actual roadway checks done by bike publications of the day topped-out a box-stock '59 Bonnie at 108 mph. Not 120, however really quick for 1959! This was the only year without any letter designation after the T120.Production of the brand-new T120 started at Triumph Motorcycles Meridan plant on September 4, 1958 with Engine # 020377. All 1959 Bonnevilles can be found in Pearl Grey and Tangerine. Victory styled the brand-new 1959 Triumph Bonneville more closely to the Thunderbird, with a headlight nacelle and full fenders.
