1960 Harley, a vintage bike that defies its time. While it is titled as a 1960, the look is from the forties, and so is the feel while riding it. This motorcycle was three years in the making and no detail has been overlooked.The frame is a 1949 V-Twin replica. If you know anything about V-Twin frames, you know this can be a problem. This one has been made perfect. The engine is a 1960 bottom end with matching belly numbers and a 1966 Shovel Head top end, all Harley-Davidson. It was built by Mikey of Knucklehead Motor Works and runs like a dream. Mikey has been doing engines for thirty years and is the best in the Midwest. The timer is a stock manual advance unit, also by H-D; the carb is a S&S E series and it is fed through two Pingel Guzzler Fuel Valves attached to the V-Twin Fuel Tanks. This is a six volts system controlled by a Cycle Electric regulator.The transmission is OEM Harley-Davidson four speed, which has also been completely rebuilt. The parts used were either Harley-Davidson or Andrews. It shifts without a problem and has no third gear whine.The dash cover, speedometer, front fork, horn, horn button, light switch, oil tank, battery tray, battery cover, front and rear brake backing plates, front brake drum, brake lever, seat post, seat tee, shift gate, shift lever, clutch bracket, clutch pedal, brake pedal, oil filter, jiffy stand and bracket, inner and outer primary, clutch, and kicker pedal are all stock vintage H-D, as is the ignition switch. The seat is a vintage H-D seat that has been cut down and covered in beautiful leather; the rear fender is a modified vintage Harley-Davidson fender with custom made braces. For the wheels, used tapered bearing vintage style hubs from Custom Chrome that have been fit with Timken Bearings and Timken seals. The 18 inch rims have been fit with Cheng-Shen tires.There are no hardware store nuts and bolts. They are either vintage H-D that have been refinished or Colony replica.
