This like new 1962 Triumph could be among the nicest in the country. The bike is flawless. It has NO leakages and runs better than new! How can it be much better than brand-new you may ask. Right here is the response. The bike has a 5 speed gear cluster concealed in the original 4 speed transmission case. The cluster was produced this bike in England and installed right here. This allows it to travel the freeways at about 3000 rpm at 73mph. The 5th speed is an overdrive, while still keeping the original gearing in the very first 4 gears. It also has a Norton clutch and a belt drive concealed in the initial primary case. This enables the bike to be super smooth with no vibrations, unlike any stock Triumph from that age. It also has no leakages even after a 200 mile trip. Thats why I believe its much better than when new. I bought a brand-new one in 1960 so I understand. The 1962 model was the last year of the seperate engine and transmission. It also was the in 2013 of the double down tube frame. This bike is a TR6, the precise very same as a bonneville other than the head only has one carbohydrate. The bonneville was just faster at leading speed which amounted to about 3 mph according to roadway tests of the day. All the aluminum is highly polished and the seat is done as initial other than that it is in real leather rather than the stock vinyl. The tank is jet black with stock emblems. The forks are stock but the front brake is a Triumph twin leading shoe with the conventional air scoop which is from a 1969. The bike stops much better than stock. Both rims are aluminum alloy with stainless spokes. The engine was completely rebuilt by South Bay Triumph in Southern California. The chronograph tach and speedo work perfectly. The magneto was rewound and reconstructed by Doug Wood. The bike starts on ONE kick. It still has the stock light switch and air cleaner assembly, both tough to discover products. It does not have or require a battery to power the lights. All the lights work excellent. The bike is a happiness to ride and may sound best with its sixties period megaphones. It does not leakage or smoke. I have been riding and collecting bikes for over 55 years. This certain Triumph lives in my living-room and gets ridden only once or two times a year.
