This exquisite 1966 BMW R60/2 twin has had a complete and comprehensive nut and bolt restoration by Benchmark Works. This example is finished in Dover white and features the large 6 gallon Schorsch Meier sport tank, the factory optional luggage rack, deep extra capacity oil pan, turn signals and twin Denfeld seats. The rear seat can be removed if you prefer that look. The bike has been converted to 12 volts for easier starting, brighter lights and better electrics. The odometer is showing 31,882 miles which is believed to be correct. The following details some of the work that was done during the restoration which occurred when the bike had about 25,000 miles on it.1) New pistons and re-bore2) Rebuilt / new heads, crankshaft, rods, bearings and slingers3) All rubber parts, gaskets and seals were replaced during the restoration 4) New wiring harness5) All new cables6) New tapered steering head bearings7) Wheel bearings properly shimmed8) Brakes and pads updated9) New deep oil pan10) New polished handlebar risers11) 12 volt conversion12) all new exhaust headers, mufflers, clamps, hangers13) new original gas cap and serif tank emblems14) Halogen headlight upgrade15) LED tail light upgrade16) Albert headlight mounted mirrors17) All new paint and striping expertly done.
