I acquired this 1966 Honda CA160 Touring in November, 2019. A fellow Vintage bike club member in San Diego saw it advertised and called me about it. It was only about a 1/2 mile away so I went to see it. It was partially assembled and stored inside a garage. It was a rolling chassis with a rebuilt engine, new Black wall tires, and all the bodywork had been repainted. Most of the parts to finish rebuilding it were in 3 plastic container tubs. The seat was a frame with springs but a new original seat cover was included. I then began to finish the assembly using the parts that were included and purchased the rest of the parts to finish the project. Here's a summary of what I bought & installed: NEW Firestone Deluxe Champion tires and tubes in the correct size whitewall Both F & R rims had been re-laced by the previous owner NEW NOS chrome gas tank side panels NEW NOS Tank emblems NEW Gas Tank rubber mounting washers NEW Grips, levers and mirrors NEW NOS Cables, Brake, clutch, speedo and throttle NEW Headlight assembly The seat was professionally rebuilt using new foam and the new NEW Carburetor rebuild kit - rebuilt by local vintage Honda mechanic NEW NOS starter solenoid Rebuilt the starter motor- new brushes installed by my mechanic NEW 6V battery NEW Aftermarket petbird NEW fuel lines NEW aftermarket chrome rear passenger grab bar NEW Helmet holder on handlebars NEW foot peg rubbers NEW NGK plug ends NEW NOS Tail light lens Good used rear passenger foot pegs with Honda logo Honda engine number is - A16011011205- just 7 numbers from the frame. Honda's numbers were usually within 150# of each other. Included in the sale is an original owners manual, a Clymer's Service & repair manual, and an original Honda Toolkit The mufflers have a few small dings near the passenger foot pegs( why are passengers so careless? ) Also, they sound good but both have small holes on the bottoms.
