This 1968 Shooting Star is a very nice example of BSA's roadster version of the 441 Victor Special. It's far more rare than the Victor and one of the most handsome motorcycles of the 1960s.For those of you who are not familiar, it's a 441cc four-stroke single, right-side shift, kick-start only. A very basic, primitive beast! But a delightful classic for collectors or someone who wants a lighter machine than the bigger BSAs, Triumphs, Nortons, etc.It's virtually 100% original, and missing nothing. Highly unusual to find one this unmolested! Here are some of the factory-original items often missing:• Original handlebars• Original grips and all controls• Original "Made in England" Jones wheel rims• Original passenger grab rail• Original chain guard• Original side (under-tank) reflectors• Both side stand and center standIt's very clean but not a concours-winning example. Some scuffs in paint and chrome, a little rust on the rear springs. Some nicks in the seat. Inspect photos closely. Let's call it an "excellent rider" quality machine.Recent work includes a carburetor rebuild, an upgraded primary cover with drain plug and fresh gasket, sealed fuel tank, oil change, and a new battery. The rear tire has some cracking and I'm including a good replacement tire of the same type with the bike in case that causes you concern. All lights operate properly. Easy starter (see video), fun to ride!Only 6,000 original miles. The bike is on non-op, clear California title in my name. $500 deposit via PayPal, balance by cashier check, wire transfer or cash in person. Scammers, don't waste my time or yours.
