There can not be too many left like this. Original paint orange / crease black kickstart magneto Sportster with only 6,971 miles. I got the from the initial owner. Frame has a "J7" date which would be October '67 which would be right for '68. The paint is still stunning. There are a couple scratches in the rear fender and a very little chip in the tank. There might be a few other small scratches, however for a bike that is 46 years old it is in amazing shape. The front fender was cut off at a long time in it's life. I can not see where anything has been repainted or touched up. Even the paint under the fenders and tank looks great. I did some light cleaning on the bike however the brand-new owner can do the real detailing. There is some light pitting on places like the air cleaner and exhaust. All surfaces look to be original. Things that aren't initial that I can see are the mufflers and tires, and an oil cooler was added. The bike has been sitting for some time and I have actually not tried to begin it. It kicks over just fine. The brand-new owner can do the starting. You can tell by looking that is has never been apart. All original wiring. All '68's I have seen utilize a Guide RH-55 taillight housing. Even the leading lens screws still have the manufacturing facility paint on them. This would be an excellent addition to your collection.
