1971 Harley Davidson XLH Sportster matching numbers bike. I am selling a few of my motorcycles due to losing some space this one will truly hurt to see it roll away as I had plans with this one. This bike is so cool with some killer parts on it. It just has the look. The old pullback bars are insanely cool mated to the original 33mm front end that looks to be a couple over to me and has a really cool 33mm chopper brace on the tubes, the exhaust looks to be an Alphabet pipe but I’m mo expert so determine for yourself if it matters but either way it’s a killer 2 into 1 pipe on it. The engine looks like it was rebuilt to me in the not too distant past from a couple things I see, the Cometic head gaskets look relatively new, the starter & ignition look new to me and a couple other things but I do not know the history of this bike. I bought it exactly as you see it and have never touched it since the day I bought it. I got it from a wife who’s husband passed away years ago and I have to tell the story because it’s so crazy. He passed away digging a septic tank in their yard. His tractor flipped over on him while digging it. RIP bud you had killer taste. Paint on the gas tank is absolutely killer with the old crazing paint that everyone is trying to copy now and the inside of the gas tank is really clean, the rear fender paint is chipping and has paint loss chips off of it but the gas tank paint is not chipped at all it looks perfect to my taste. Engine looks great on the bike fins look good rockers, cases, primary cover, side covers ect. The frame is the original 1971 frame with matching numbers(hard to see in the photo from the electrical box meltdown. I show 2 photos of the flip switch electrical box added to the bike it that appears to have had a melt down to me. The wiring looks like it arched and melted down the frame. So obviously will need that removed and fixed. Bike looks to be pretty complete. I got it without a seat but had two cool options at my house so I am including them both for you. Main thing I see is it is missing is the brake pedal, battery & air cleaner cover I believe it’s complete other than that. The photos should tell the story please view them all closely and use the zoom. I am selling this as is with what is seen including the old chopper seat in the first photo so it will come with two seats if you like. Both are cool but different looks. I am also listing a 1968 Sporty if interested in 2 cool bikes take a look.Please have money in hand ready to transfer before placing a bid as there is no reserve and any bid could result in a winning bid. I bank with Bank Of America and Wells Fargo for easy wire transfers if that is how you plan on paying and for international buyers. I have a clear correct South Carolina title ready to priority mail to you or hand to you depending on if you are picking it up or shipping.I have sold a lot of motorcycles and parts on eBay and have a lot of happy customers and this Sporty will certainly make another. I require a $250 deposit via PayPal through eBay paid within the first 24 hrs. the auctions end and the balance due within the week. The balance must be paid via cash in person, check or bank transfer. PayPal is not accepted for final payment. If you are shipping this that is fine but you must arrange and pay for it and please if you are get on it in a timely manner.
