Description:
1972 Honda CB500-Four: Estate purchase from a former customer; in very nice “survivor” condition. Bike has great potential for full restoration, or could be a nice vintage daily rider with a little work… you are seeing the bike in the pictures basically as we purchased it. This bike was parked in approximately 2015 in good running and riding condition. It kicks over smoothly with good compression, the fuel tank is in very good condition, no excessive rust/flaking etc. New battery, ignition system, oil & more... Motor is running, all cylinders firing, sounds good, clutch operates, goes into gears ok; just needs some fine tuning and TLC as the front brake is quite sticky, the date code on the tires are from 2002 - we had run this bike on here previously as a non-running example - obviously, people were wary of the condition of the motor internals, so we have taken the time to provide piece of mind that it is indeed a running, functioning machine.The only notable damaged area is near the tips of the left side exhaust which has rusted through (see pic). The chromework on the bike does show minor surface pitting in many areas - it can be difficult to see in the pictures without studying them carefully, so we certainly want to disclose honest condition. Additionally, the front brake caliper is frozen, the rear brake works, but somewhat sticky. No dents or rust of note on the bodywork, however it does have a fair amount of nicks and scratches overall, in other words, "age appropriate patina" again, please study pictures carefully.It has been brought to my attention that this color is not original to the bike; so it is reasonable to say this is a repaint, albeit an older paintjob. The bike appears to be in very nice, all-original condition. Clean Tennessee title in hand. Bike needs to be picked up and the balance paid within 10 business days at our shop in Kingsport, Tennessee during normal business hours.(Tues-Fri 9am-5pm, Sat 9am-3pm)Bike is sold “as-is, where-is” - so please inspect photos carefully, ask any questions you may have prior to bidding. We absolutely will not sell this outside of eBays’ payment system, so be prepared to pay the required deposit at the close of auction. Balance will need to be paid in cash on pickup.
