This 1973 Triumph 500MX has been beautifully restored, and is a superb example of this very rare machine. Only about 400 went to the USA.500cc Single 4 Cycle4 Speed TransTachVIN/Serial: TR5MXGH75494- MATCHING NUMBERSHIGHLIGHTSThis 1973 Triumph TR5MX is a very rare, one-year-only model and has received a full nut-and-bolt restoration. It’s as good a TR5MX as you’ll find anywhere and qualifies as one of the most unique off-roaders built in Britain. At heart, the TR5MX is a BSA B50MX with Triumph badging and that crazy dual-muffler exhaust system. It’s the sister machine to the Triumph TR5T enduro.The TR5MX features a dry sump, unit-construction 34 HP engine with a 4-speed gearbox. The bore/stroke was 84x90mm giving 499cc (30.5 CI) and making a slightly long-stroke engine, with great torque low down in the rev range. The forks were the same as the 750cc Triumph Bonneville, with 6.75 inches of travel, while the frame had 7 inches of ground clearance, and the swingarm used a snail cam for chain adjustment.
