1975 Honda CB550 Flake Sunrise Orange – Bike has original paint, original 4 into 4 exhaust, original rims, and all original chrome. The bike was completely disassembled for cleaning / polishing with engine removed from the frame. Note some of the pictures are prior to completion of the bike to add /show detail. The bike is complete and as will read below everything has been gone through!New Tires, Front and rear wheels re-spoked with hubs and rims polished, new wheel bearings, and new rear brake pads. Tapered bearings were installed on the steering stem, front forks were disassembled, cleaned, polished, and new fork seals were installed. Front brakes serviced with new pads, new hoses, and re-built master cylinder. Shocks were replaced with replicas and front and rear fenders were polished, and all cables were inspected and lubricated. Instruments were removed (touch up painted were required) and cleaned and OEM style grips were installed. The wiring harness was cleaned, retaped were needed, and all electrical components work as designed. Finally, electronic ignition was added as an improvement over standard points and condensers (original parts will be included with the sale).The engine was cleaned and painted, all side and tappet covers were cleaned and polished. The only actual engine work done was removal of the clutch discs for inspection and cleaning. A compression check was done on all four cylinders. The carburetors were ultrasonically cleaned and rebuilt with standard #98 main jet and #38 pilot jet. The bike starts, idles, and runs as expected.The tank and side covers are original. The paint was cleaned and polished. Side covers have no cracks and are near perfect. The tank has a few small scratches on the side and top of tank, and there is a small wave in the tank on the right-hand side when sitting on the bike at the bottom gold stripe before the “H” in HONDA (not noticeable in the pictures). The seat is original and has a small tear (½ inch) on the top and one at the rear and bottom of the seat. This is a 48-year-old motorcycle and only original once.
