I have owned this bike for about 20 years. It was purchased used and thanks to getting married, buying a house and having kids, it has not been ridden as much as I had hoped.It was overhauled last year and I had a Metzler LaserTech installed on the front and a Metzler ME77 installed on the rear which have maybe 300 miles on them.A new battery was installed prior to the riding season as well. I had it out over the weekend for a 50 mile loop with my daughter (riding now requires a child). I love this bike, but noticed a shake at about 35 miles per hour...I figure I threw a weight. The steering is very stiff and I need to have the front end serviced.As I was riding, I was thinking that maybe it is time to think about a newer bike....if one at all. If I put money into the front end, I'll keep this baby.I had the cafe fairing installed not long after I bought it. The bike sunk into asphalt on a hot day and tipped over, cracking the fairing a month after it was installed.I installed an after market rear rack, then added a trunk and the side cases. The side cases have their own mounts and the bike did not come with BMW bag mounts. The trunk and cases are in OK shape, but would benefit from some refinishing.I purchased a new seat that was rebuilt on an original seat body, but I also have the original seat.The paint on the tank is in great shape, save a scuff near the seat from what I think was caused by plastic on my riding jacketThe odometer reads 22,000 and I bought it with 8,900...not a lot of riding in 20 years. The speedometer may have been changed by a previous owner or it may have 122,000 miles.The front brake squeaks, the clutch is clunky, prior to the last ride I noticed a drip from the inline fuel filter or line as well as a drip from the transmission plug...both simple fixes.These are things you might expect in a 35 year old bike.It won't take much to restore the bike to it's original glory.I have attached a couple of photos, they are not recent, but the bike has been garaged and has not dropped (other than the asphalt incident already mentioned). If you are are interested in this bike, I can take and supply more photos.
