An authentic Ukrainian license plate completes the package and accents the solid black paint with white pinstriping. Freshly serviced, this Dnepr is in pristine mechanical condition, starting on the first kick. The engine case, cylinder jugs, covers, generator, and air cleaner are all in excellent condition. Hands-free clutching makes it even easier to enjoy and is entirely functional! It is difficult to find a Dnepr in any condition, let alone a cosmetically handsome, fully serviced, running example! HISTORYThis charming bike was restored by a team of Dnepr enthusiasts in Ukraine, where they had access to the factory and new, new-old-stock parts. It was then brought to the United States, and the previous owner purchased it from an estate where it was in storage. In excellent cosmetic condition, it was brought to Alpha Cars to bring it back to optimal running condition. LEGENDThe MT9 is one of the first motorcycles manufactured under the Dnepr name. Formerly known as KMZ, Dnepr (named for the nearby river which crosses Kyiv) would become famed for its incredible ruggedness, longevity, and off-road prowess. The MT9 benefitted from an upgraded transmission that incorporated a reverse gear for sidecar use. The 650cc, horizontally opposed boxer twin produced approximately 32hp and a generous, flat torque curve. That power was now transmitted to the rear wheel through a low-maintenance driveshaft.
