1976 Kawasaki KZ900A4

Price:
$19,800
Summary:
Used 1976 34,000 miles
Location:
Moscow, PA
Description:

1976 KAWASAKI KZ900A4 VIN Z1F-093847. Last year of"The King" the legendary Z1900. 34K miles, Diamond Dark Green. Veryoriginal, numbers matching, unmolested, survivor that was continuously riddensince it was purchased new, never sat in storage for any length of time. Thiswas purchased from the original owner's estate. The story I was told was thathe and his brother were a very successful drag racing team in the 1970’s andthis was his personal bike, well loved and meticulously maintained. It hasa period correct Kerker 4 into 1 exhaust (Usually the 1stmodification made on these bikes), Aftermarket rear shocks (Usually the 2ndmodification made), New Diamond Dark Green paint,(Due to sun fading on theoriginal paint), New Rear Tire with period correct tread pattern and tube, NewK&N Air Filter, New Battery, Carburetors sonic cleaned and Factory rebuildkits installed, Synced and adjusted, New Intake Boots, New Spark Plugs &Caps, and Fresh Oil Change. All original with the exception of the exhaust, airfilter, and shocks, includes toolkit. Looks, Runs, and sounds Awesome. No smoke, no unusual noises, no leaks, Shiftsare quiet and crisp, accelerates nicely just like you remember, and stops as itshould. Everything works, all lights, indicator lights, blinkers, brake lights, and horn, as well as the speedometer and tachometer. Like all these vintage carburetedKawasaki’s, she is cold blooded and you need to give her a minute or so to warmup before she’s ready for business. Once she’s ready, she doesn’t mess around, she seduces you with all that intoxicating acceleration that she has a reputationfor and you so fondly remember. You can hardly ever stop for gas with this headturning beauty without someone engaging you in a conversation and drawing acrowd. The Kawasaki 900’s from the 70’s have crossed that line from a nostalgiafueled collectible to a true motorcycle legend. This iconic bike has firmly entrencheditself in the annals of motorcycle history as not only one of the fastest, mostimportant, and game changing motorcycles of the 1970’s , it has become one ofthe most significant motorcycles ever released. Earlier models have set salesrecords of over 50K recently, and this was a restored, not an original, bike.Values are rising almost daily and the 1976 KZ900 is (according to the experts, not me) the next model year to increase in value exponentially, making it anexcellent investment and the most fun investment you may ever own. Hagertyvalues this bike at #1 $19,800.00 #2$13,500.00 and a #3 condition bike at $9600.00. That said, the reserve is setreasonably, Here's some quotes from a 1976 Cycle World article on the 1976 KZ900: “The Z1 was to be an indomitable Goliathbefore which all others would wither, a “King Motorcycle”, in the words ofKawasaki.” “Mostimportantly, the Z1 would eat the CB750 alive and floss with its spokes”. “Theimpact was immediate. The big Z won hearts and minds in the press and on thestreet. Nothing like it had ever been seen before”. “Therewasn’t much else in the way of competition for the Z1. No other bike came closeto the power, reliability and brute style offered by the world’s newly reigningsuperbike”. “it was remarkable for its time—so remarkable, in fact, that the1976 KZ900 wrangled “best roadster in its class” honors from Cycle Worldmagazine at the time.” “Runningthe bike up the rev ladder will complete the flashback sequence in the rider’s mind. The engine opens up with a familiar punch and that unmistakable burblingexhaust note creeps up from behind”.
