Summary:
Used 1979 Triumph Bonneville
Location:
Portland, OR
Description:

Triumph Bonneville. 750 bike starts first kick, I have video of it starting and running, on request, five speed transmission, new brake pads and pistons (less than 50 miles) transmission was rebuilt with all new seals, bushings and bearings (less than 500 miles) Electronic ignition has been replaced with Boyer ignition , stock carbs have been replaced with Wassell Evolution carburetors. I will provide the original ignition system and carbs, that are in working condition, in case you want to return the bike to stock. Newer seat cover in great condition. Header exhaust has baffles so not super loud. Wassell rear rack, the rear turn signals have been narrowed to avoid being damaged. There are a couple of small scratches and a small dent on the gas tank, otherwise everything runs and works like it should. Over all a great bike! Please feel free to ask any questions, buyer to organize and pay for any shipping This 1979 Triumph Bonneville Special 750cc 140d (Daytona) was acquired by the seller in 2005.The Bonneville 140d was a “factory custom” developed for the American market by Triumph’s Meriden factory. As part of the attempt to increase buyers in the US the cast seven mag wheels were developed for the 140d by Lester Tire and Wheel Co of Ohio. Left hand gear shift and right hand kick start made it an American Triumph. A black paint scheme and gold pin stripping was chosen by Triumph to finish the look for the American market. This bike is a tribute bike to the original classic and ever beautiful Triumphs. The handle bars were sourced from Rabers of San Jose and are in the style of the Triumph desert sleds popularized by Steve McQueen and Bruce Brown in “Any Sunday”. The seat and fork gators round out the look. The tank colors are inspired by Triumph tank color offerings. The “luggage rack” was made by Wassell, a major supplier of motorcycle accessories in England. And, boy is it handy on occasion. The header exhaust is the Isle of Mann TT style exhaust and is baffled so it’s not super loud. The rear turn signals have been shortened to avoid being damaged. The Bonneville includes side and center stands, very nice and original chrome fenders, Smith gauges, a five speed transmission, a newer seat cover in great condition, the original owner’s handbook and a copy of the 650 and 750 Triumph workshop manual. The most recent work done to the Bonneville Special includes; new brake pads and pistons (less than 50 miles) transmission was rebuilt with all new seals, bushings and bearings (less than 500 miles) electronic ignition has been replaced with Boyer ignition, and stock carbs have been replaced with Wassell Evolution carburetors. There are a couple of small scratches and a small dent on the tank, otherwise the bike runs and works like it should.I have a video of the bike being cold started on the first kick.I will provide the original ignition system and carbs, that are in working condition, in case you want to return the bike to stock. Please feel free to ask any questions, buyer to organize and pay for any shipping
