Description:
KTM 300 EXC. This bike comes from the estate of a riding animal. He had about a dozen bikes of all varieties when he passed. All of them were amazing.In 1990 KTM got serious and the present day 300 2-Stroke was born.This bike is original, clean, starts well and is ready to ride. This bike is smooth, it preforms well at low, mid-range and top-end. This bike performs well in a wide variety of conditions. The suspension is better than smooth- PLUSH!Braking, clutch and shifting are perfect. Depending on altitude, choke and carb adjustments could be needed or tweaked. The Good:This bike is clean, original, and unmolested. It starts well and has great power. The plastics are all good, and everything works as it should. After the owner's passing, we put gas in it and rode it the same day. No repairs were done. Tires are good, but not sure of their age. Wheels are good and straight. Chain and sprockets are good. Tail bulb is new and works. There is also a nice aluminum skid plate under the engine, which I don't think is stock.The Bad: The right side fork leg appeared to have been welded down where the axle passed through it. Not sure of the circumstances, but the weld looks professional and there are no cracks or signs of stress. There is an enduro odometer, but there is no cable between the speedo drive (odo drive?) and the odo unit. This would be easy to replace... if you care. The headlight bulb is burned out; filaments floating in the glass. I have a new bulb on order, and will install it before you pick up. The Ugly:There is a small tear in the original seat cover on the left side. Both the front and rear fenders have holes for mounting little zipper bags, but the bags are long gone. The rear bag was stock; the front one may have been added by the previous owner. The front stainless brake hose has a black vinyl jacket that is peeling in places. The previous owner wrapped some of these spots in electrical tape. Predictably, there are a few small dents in the exhaust, but nothing that would impact performance. The red bark busters on the handlebars are pretty faded. I kinda like that, but thought I should mention it.The BS:$500 deposit by PayPal due within 24 hours, or payment in full works too. Payment in full within 7 days by cashier's check or direct deposit. I can keep it here for a reasonable amount of time while logistics get sorted, but I am looking to make space in the shop. Offers of trades for weird things or checks from the Bank of Nigeria will likely be politely declined, but feel free to go for broke.If you need to have this bike shipped, contact me and I'll see if I can help. I will, at the very least, deliver the bike to any freight terminal in the metro Albuquerque area; all you have to do is set it up and tell me when and where.We also have a FJ09 with factory bags, a ST1100, A XR400R, a DR650, A RM80, A really nice K1200GT, a Gemini SST50, and 2 CT90K0 trail bikes, including a very early one with the dual rear sprocket setup.If you need any additional info, please don't hesitate to ask.
