Harley Davidson motorcycles of the 40s-50s were mainly "hard tail" designs without any rear suspension. The bikes had a nice low sleek look but were not very comfortable especially for long rides. This Softail Deuce has the best of both worlds: the look of a hard tail and the comfort of a soft tail. The shocks are mounted horizontally beneath the transmission and out of sight. This "Softail" set up has been used by HD since the early 80s and is one of their most popular lines. Powering this Deuce is an 88 CID counterbalanced twin cam V-Twin which has far less vibration then earlier V-Twins. The benefit of the big twin is the toque it offers even at low RPMs. Couple the powerful V-Twin with a 5 speed constant mesh transmission and you have a powerful yet reliable power train. This particular Softail is the fuel injected model which offers even more reliability and ease of maintenance. The bike still has the unmistakable rumble of a Harley and the Vance and Hines Big Radius exhaust has a great note. The tins are finished in a very sharp Dragonfly Green metallic paintjob that comes to life in the sunlight. The bike features Arlen Ness forward controls, detachable windshield, and rear sissy bar and luggage rack. This Softail has only covered 9,100 miles and is hardly broken in.
