-LRB-415-RRB-639-XXXX ext. 608.The Honda 599 CB600F Hornet was presented for Europe in 1998 as the Honda Hornet. The bike has a six-speed transmission. Its suspension consists of a front telescopic fork and a rear single shock. It has rear and front disc brakes. As a sport-oriented motorcycle that provides an upright riding position, it is considered a standard or naked bike. In 2000, Honda upgraded the 599 Hornet, altering the 16 in (410 mm) front wheel for a 17 in (430 mm) to help corner stability and enhancing the strength of the brake pass-over system on the front, making the brakes more powerful. Nevertheless, Honda did not enhance the size of the fuel tank. In 2003, Honda provided the CB600F version a make-over, with a larger fuel tank (17 L/3.7 imp gal; 4.5 United States gal instead of the previous 16 L/3.5 imp gal; 4.2 United States gal), and 'sharper' styling. In 2006, the instrument cluster was modernized, and more notably, it was fitted with upside-down front forks, to enhance road-holding and cornering stability. After years, The Honda Hornet was finally presented to the US market. Due to a name rights problem with the 1970's AMC Hornet automobile, it was called Honda 599.
