Big comfort, big power, and huge storage. If that's what you're looking for, the Kawasaki Concours should be in your closer group of candidates, especially given its price point being lower than that of the competitiors. This however doesn't mean you're getting less in return: Kawasaki pulled its 1352cc inline four from the ZX-14R hyperbike. Variable valve timing hands you a better fuel economy without sacrificing top end power. 135hp and close to 90lb-ft of torque don't leave much to be desired. Kawasaki's six speed transmission is close to maintenance free, with exception to 7500 mile fluid changes (conveniently the same interval as the engine oil). For a bike weighing in at roughly 700lb, the Concours handles surprisingly nimble. Great suspension components and a good center of gravity make this happen. No money was spared with the tires either: Bridgestone Battlax BT-021 tires come with the bike. The wheels have sensors constantly updating a display on the instrument panel. Kawasaki's traction control works very efficiently and heated grips let you forget how cold it can sometimes be. The second generation linked braking system featuring a BOSCH ABS controller delivers a much improved braking sensation compared to its predecessors. A reshaped electrically adjustable windscreen with adjustable louvers was added, and the shape of the seat was modified to give more comfort, and it features a special heat resistant seat cover. Underneath the instrument panel, a 12 volt power plug was added.
