Underneath lies the same 170hp ‘Granturismo’ V4 engine, an 1158cc offshoot of the 1103cc unit used in the Panigale V4 superbike. Like the other machines in the range, the peak power arrives at 10,500rpm, with max torque of 92lbft coming at 8750rpm. For the Pikes Peak, the only engine update is the addition of a new ‘Race’ riding mode, altering the rev limiter behavior to encourage you to explore the higher reaches of the tachometer more, while the standard equipment quickshifter gets new programming to allow more aggressive downshifts and the throttle response is quickened in ‘High Power’ mode. But while the engine is familiar the bike wrapped around it is significantly revised.Has an aftermarket AKRAPOVIČ exhaust almost the full system, minus headers (catalytic converter gone) and the updated EVO race map that was uploaded on by European Cycle Sports Ducati dealer, off Ave. K here in Plano. Has all the bells and whistles the Pikes Peak is known for, Ducati’s Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) function is fitted as standard equipment on the Pikes Peak, easing to the long haul. Radar. Numerous riding modes to choose from. Oil recently changed.
