Vintage BMW R60/2The BMW air cooled boxer twin is one of the most loved bikes of all time. Truly an exceptional piece of machinery, and a bike that many folks keep for a lifetime of riding enjoyment. The previous owner was a BMW rider's club member and was meticulous on the upkeep of the bike. He pampered the bike and kept detailed notes on the services performed on the bike. He seemed to have some really great times with the bike over the past 8 or 9 years.This bike features a rare Heinrich aluminum fairing, Albert mirrors, Enduro bags, and a brand new Pagusa solo seat and pillion pad for passengers. It also has alloy rims, new alloy front shock sleeves, stock bars and mufflers, etc. I tracked down and purchased a rare Heinrich aluminum lower fairing which will look great on the bike once it is painted to match the upper portion.This bike is not a restored concours bike, but is a very pleasing combination of well-kept original with restored/repainted components as necessary. The Italians call this "Conservato", and I say it has just the right amount of patina. It is exactly what is needed as a great looking rider. You will not be afraid of collecting a few stone chips from riding it, and it still looks beautiful - you can be proud to be seen on it.I had been searching for a nice R60/2 and finally found this bike last year. When I purchased it, I envisioned myself riding it around town during the week, and taking weekend rides in the country. However, this never materialized as I am constantly getting sidetracked with other bikes and spend more time restoring and servicing them than riding them. I am very embarrassed to admit that I have put a mere 4 miles on this BMW since it was purchased! It has been on display ever since.
