My name is Todd and I live in SD off Sports Arena blvd. I have a 1984 Honda Shadow 500 which I am looking to part with. I do have the title and it is currently registered until next June. This was my first bike and I commuted with it for a couple months when I moved here before switching to a car; it was running pretty good for an older bike. I let it sit without starting it for a month or two and when I attempted to take it out last month it started to lose power after riding it for a few minutes and stalled out. I started it again and was able to get home just barely. Ever since then when I start it it's idling very high in neutral with the choke off and stalls out after a couple minutes. As far as fixing it myself, I know nothing about bikes and am not really interested in throwing a bunch of money at a mobile mechanic to find out whats wrong since i didn't pay that much for it in the first place. I am not set on any price and willing to take a fair offer.
