Description:
1982 Honda 450 Night Hawk. This bike is a custom build. The entire front end is from a YZ 250 Yamaha Motocross bike, as well as the Mono Shock. The front forks have been cut down by 7". The front end has a 7 degree rake. The bike has Renthal bars, an extremely bright Carbon Graphite headlight. K&N filters. The tank has been cut and and channeled, so it sits lower on the frame, and has a pop up gas cap. Magura Hydraulic clutch. Six speed. The motor and everything on it, and the gearbox have been totally rebuilt with no expense spared. Custom wire harness. The only wires that are seen go back to the tail light. Custom exhaust pipes with Ducatti mufflers. The sound is absolutely amazing. Throttle response is immediate. This bike runs and rides perfect. The specialty of the builder is suspension. While this bike is half the weight of an older BMW I have, it is way smoother over bumps in the road. In fact, it is the most comfortable street bike I have ever ridden. I feel the builder is an artist as this bike has Street Tracker, Bobber, Cafe Racer, and Enduro all rolled into one. I have just installed a brand new RK Racing Chain and Lithium Battery. Since these pictures have been taken, I have removed the crash pad on the bars, and moved the Speedo more forward. There is only one problem I have had owning this bike. After a few weeks of ownership, I decided to buy a gas can, and fill the tank at my place of business before a ride, because every time I would pull into the gas station, I would have to stop and talk with at least one or more people, and it cut into my riding time. This bike is on the Pipeburn Web Site, which has some of the most beautiful bikes in the world on it. The builder is Josh Mott of Josh Mott racing. He is third generation Mechanic, Bike Builder, and Racer. The only original parts to this Night Hawk are the major part of the frame, the motor, and the rear wheel. Other than riding this bike, one of my greatest pleasures has been just looking at it. Sometimes I just can't stop.
